Cookie policy
Version cookies-1.0 · Last updated: 15 October 2026
1. About this policy
1.1
This policy explains how earnr (getearnr.com), run by Boshhh Group Limited, uses cookies and similar technologies on its website and in its web app, and the choices you have. It follows the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, and UK data protection law.
1.2
Where to find more. Our Privacy Policy explains more about how we use personal data.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
2.1
Cookies. A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your device.
2.2
Similar technologies. These work in much the same way and are covered by the same rules. Examples are:
- (a)browser storage (“local storage” and “session storage”);
- (b)pixels; and
- (c)device fingerprinting.
In this policy, “cookies” includes all of these.
2.3
The two kinds of cookie.
- (a)Strictly necessary cookies are needed to provide a service you have asked for, such as keeping you signed in. The law does not require your consent for these.
- (b)All other cookies, such as those used for advertising, need your consent before we use them. Some analytics cookies can instead be used under the limited exemption described in section 5.
3. The cookies we use
3.1
earnr currently uses only strictly necessary cookies and storage. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use analytics cookies.
| Name | Type | What it does | How long it lasts | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|---|
cb_session | Cookie (HTTP-only, secure, SameSite=Lax) | Keeps you signed in after you enter your one-time code, and protects your session from tampering | 30 days, or until you sign out | earnr |
cashback.home.ticker.dismissed.v1 | Session storage | Remembers that you closed the offers ticker on the home page, so it does not reappear during your visit | Until you close the browser tab | earnr |
| Security cookies, if any | Cookie | Strictly necessary security, for example bot protection | As set by the provider | Our hosting provider |
3.2
Fonts. The fonts on our website are served from our own servers. Your browser does not contact Google or any other font provider when you visit.
3.3
Why there is no cookie banner. Because we use only strictly necessary cookies, we do not currently show a cookie banner. We will add one before we start using any cookie that needs your consent (section 4).
4. If we add other cookies in future
4.1
If we start using cookies that are not strictly necessary, for example to measure how the site is used or how well our advertising works, we will first update this policy and list each cookie.
4.2
How we will ask for consent. Unless an exemption applies (section 5), we will ask for your consent through a cookie banner that:
- (a)lets you reject as easily as you accept, on the first screen;
- (b)does not use pre-ticked boxes, and does not set any optional cookies until you have chosen;
- (c)lets you choose by category; and
- (d)lets you change your mind at any time, through a “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page.
4.3
Using earnr without optional cookies. Refusing optional cookies will never stop you using earnr or earning cashback.
5. Analytics under the statistical exemption
5.1
The exemption. The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 allows some cookies to be used without consent, for example cookies used only to collect statistics that help us improve the site.
5.2
Conditions we would follow. If we rely on this exemption, we will:
- (a)tell you clearly about the cookie in this policy;
- (b)give you a simple way to object;
- (c)use the data only to improve earnr; and
- (d)not share it for advertising.
5.3
Current position. We do not currently use any analytics cookies.
6. Earning cashback does not rely on cookies
6.1
Many cashback websites track your purchases with cookies set when you click a link. earnr does not work like that.
- (a)How we track purchases. We recognise eligible purchases from the transaction data you share through Open Banking.
- (b)What this means for you. Blocking cookies, using an ad blocker or using private browsing will not stop earnr tracking your cashback.
7. Other websites, WhatsApp and retailers
7.1
Retailer and network websites. If you follow a link from earnr to a retailer or network, for example to use a discount code, that website will set its own cookies. Those cookies are covered by its own cookie policy, not this one.
7.2
WhatsApp. If you talk to Earni on WhatsApp, Meta’s policies apply to your use of WhatsApp.
8. Tracking in emails and messages
8.1
We do not currently use tracking pixels in emails, or tracked links in messages, to see whether you have opened or clicked them.
8.2
If we start doing so for marketing messages, we will ask for your consent first, and tell you in this policy.
9. How to control cookies
9.1
Browser settings. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Your browser’s help pages explain how. If you block the
cb_session cookie, you will not be able to stay signed in to earnr on the website.9.2
Clearing session storage. Session storage is cleared automatically when you close the tab.
10. Changes and contact
10.1
Changes. We will update this policy, and the date at the top, whenever we change the cookies we use.
10.2
